Packing and Travel
We packed our backpacks and hugged our kids goodbye before we started. From Bellevue, WA we took a bus and the train to the SeaTac Airport and waited to board our flight to Amsterdam. I couldn't sleep the night before we left and I'm running on excitement now. Although we booked our tickets with Icelandicair we were moved to a Delta flight that couldn't get water flowing to any of the on-board faucets. So the pilot stopped in Minneapolis to get the plane serviced while we all waited in the airport. Then back on the plane to go the rest of the way to Amsterdam only a few hours later than expected. With a bit of sleep and some airplane food to tide us over we jump in line to go through customs and boom we are in the Netherlands and walking around the airport lobby looking for the right travel ticket to get to our first Airbnb. We learned the hard way that the basic Amsterdam 3 day pass doesn't cover the region our Airbnb was in, but the folks at the train travel desk helped us exchange it for the Amsterdam Region 3 day pass. Then we were off to find bus 195 to take us to the Patio Pima Airbnb in Badhoevedorp. It's so nice to have a bed to stretch out on after so many hours on busses, trains, and airplanes. We made it!
